About

Islander Lodge has been providing visitors to Norfolk Island superior accommodation for many years.

Islander Lodge is a family run business, and much love and effort has been poured into this accommodation property offering guests excellent service and facilities.

Starting with barely a cent to their name, the original owners – Norfolk Islander Borry Evans and his wife Joy – returned to Norfolk in 1967 after residing, working and becoming parents to two boys in Joy’s home of New Zealand.

On land that Borry inherited from his grandmother, Phoebe Bataille, he personally built the famed ‘Islander Lodge’, with ocean and Island views, overlooking the now World Heritage Listed Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area.

Today, after undergoing many changes and renovations, Islander Lodge continues to be a popular choice of accommodation for visitors looking for affordable Norfolk Island holiday packages.

Islander Lodge has transitioned to next generation and is now operated by Duncan & Gaewyn Evans. Son to Borry and Joy, Duncan Evans is a Norfolk Islander and is a 7th Generation descendant from Fletcher Christian, the leader of the Mutiny on the Bounty. Gaewyn Evans is a descendant of the Reverend Henry Fulton, an Irish Political Prisoner. Rev Fulton was a Presbyterian Chaplain on the Island during the First Convict Settlement from 1801 to 1806, with 2 children born on the Island during this time.

The accommodation at Islander Lodge is rated 3.5 stars by Star Ratings Australia. It provides an excellent guest experience, with outstanding panoramic ocean views, comfortable affordable apartments and a wide range of facilities. This is complimented by the peace, the unsurpassed ocean and island views and the unspoiled beauty of the natural environment surrounding the apartments.
